Receiver Architectures for High-integration RF Transceivers in CMOS The vast majority of currently-manufactured transceivers for the applications mentioned above utilize single- or dual-conversion configuration for the receive path. This architecture is not particularly well suited to higher levels of integration because the required high-Q, high-dynamic range IF bandpass filter. Image rejection consideration usually dictate that the center frequency of this filter be on the order of 10% of the carrier frequency in conventional receivers, and as a result it does not lend itself to implementation using monolithic filtering approaches.
