Our study with 50 eyes seems to support a high success rate with autologous platelet concentrate. In this study, 74 % of patients had an improvement in visual acuity of 2 lines or more. Fine [13] suggested an arbitrary figure of 6/12 as a target for the successful treatment of macular holes, and it is perhaps actual visual acuity which is more important than lines of improvement.
