Heb. 7:28. Practical Comments The Christian convert should at once face the question of full consecration to the service of God. Just as Abraham gave Isaac, or as Hannah gave Samuel, wholly to the service of God, so each one who begins the Christian life should give himself fully to God to be used in any way that He may choose.
At the same time it is well for us to remember that we are commanded to pray. Jesus, however, in His discourses usually takes it for granted that His followers should pray. While we are told to make our Page 32 requests known to God, we should remember there is more to prayer than asking favors for ourselves. Prayer should have in it the elements of thanksgiving and praise to God and intercession in behalf of others. We should learn to pray both in private and in public, and have regular seasons for private devotion.
